We did not have an easy task ahead of us when we took our first foray into cnc tube bending. With over 100 unique stainless bent tubes meant for a Monocoque city bus frame for the New York/New Jersey Port Authority, holding required bending tolerances of plus minus 1/32 on both large radius and small bends have been achieved consistently for over five years running on both of our Starbend units. The success experienced on this project gave us the confidence to tackle our first contract tube bending project for the US military. Tie Down / Industrial Laser Solution’s requirement was to laser cut, bend, and machine tubes that once interlocked and coupled with a “defeat net” system by QinetiQ North America, created a protective RPG cage system that would enshroud MRAP combat vehicles. This new armor system is currently in use and deployed in thousands of US combat vehicles serving in overseas theaters of conflict. Whether it was draw bending, interpolation, or even bending using stacked tools, the Starbend units performed flawlessly.

From helping people on their daily commutes to protecting soldiers serving their country, the Starbend CNC tube benders have been a key and integral component in our ability to satisfy our customers’ unique tubular requirements.
