Metal Services of Blooming Prairie, Inc. has been a contract manufacturer offering a variety of services to area clients for 32 years. We have been bending tube and pipe for many of our customers for at least 25 years. Having a bender that was reaching 20 years old, we set out to research several machines that suited our needs and then located shops that were using those machines to get a firsthand look at them in action and a chance to talk to machine owners, operators, and maintenance people.
Our bender of choice was the Starbend 800 CN9 GIL 9 Axis Multistack Electric CNC. During our visit to see one, we heard nothing but praise for the sales staff, set-up and training staff, and follow-up. Any issues had been dealt with immediately to the satisfaction of the customer. Our experience with the staff of ITEC was exactly as they described. Our machine arrived on time, the set-up and training people were excellent, and any issues we have had since have been dealt with quickly and professionally. Also, Starbend was the only company happily willing to build us an adapter so we could use the tooling from our former machine. We purchased new tooling for all of our high use parts, but use the adapter and our former tooling for the parts we do not do as often, thus saving us thousands of dollars in new tooling costs.
The new machine functions flawlessly and gives us new capabilities to expand our sales. The CNC controls allow our operators to perform secondary operations while it is doing its work, making jobs more profitable.
We are extremely pleased with our new investment and working with Brian and Franco has
made business a pleasure.
